As our blueberries begin to ripen. . .
Effie evidently prefers the shade of grapevines. I honestly can’t blame her; Effieland is 106° F right now.

I just made blueberry muffins with the first of our blueberries yesterday. That looks like a nice spot Effie- what variety of grapes do you grow? We have Concords, Niagara and Delaware.

Ellen, my husband plants everything and knows what grape varieties we grow. I really don’t recall what we have. Some are pink, and they’re the best tasting but small. I just help harvest and freeze them. I’ll ask him when he gets home–I just didn’t want you to think I was ignoring your question.
I imagine your muffins are wonderful!

Okay, Ellen, here’s the grape list:
Pinot noir, Himrod, Concord, Thompson Seedless, Flame, Canadice, and Madeleine!

How far are you willing to travel for one? We don’t get very many. 🤔

Haha! I’d travel up to 3 hours for a blueberry that actually tastes of blueberry. Most of the ones you find in supermarkets taste of water. 😦 😾:(

I’m farther than three hours from London. But I know what you mean!

I ended up buying some on the local market here and they tasted of nothing… at this rate I may have to travel further to get some real ones! LOL
My home village in Germany has entire fields of them in the forest the only problem is that because of the foxes they are not deemed safe for consumption (tape worm infection risk spread by them) but they make perfect Marmelade and cake filling… 😮

That’s something anyway! We don’t have enough for jam, so it’s good they’re delicious to just eat! And safe!

We use a lot of air conditioning. We’re not honestly suffering. When we want or need to be outdoors we’re fairly heat adapted. 😎
