I know! And he’s neutered, she’s spayed–and still I feel like a thwarter of romance! They were both in their altered states, as it were, before they ever met! Halvor was neutered before we moved here. Effie was spayed before we adopted her. I think Halvor wants to be pals; Effie likes to tease him. . . .
