My husband, who took this photo, is building a gated fence around our small orchard, which has provided our visiting deer a feast of plums, apples, pears, and grapes. Halvor has taken up guard duty, even though fruit season is behind us for the year.

I’m not so sure, Helen. We would probably be amazed at what cats find comfortable. Halvor shimmied up there pretty deliberately!

Halvor is strong and does well for an old guy. We don’t know how old he is but we perceive he has wisdom and strength and patience.
