Reflective from a nap,
Effie notes snack bugs in the grapevine providing her shade. It’s another 109° day in Effieland. AND: Today marks the onset of Effie’s birthday week! (She’s shown no signs of the Terrible Twos.)

A cause for celebration! I do actually get the cats birthday presents, and when it’s someone else’s birthday..I have to get her a present so she doesn’t feel left out…grape vines are looking good! : )
Sam, you must please assure me that you will send nothing but an e-card at most, across nothing but the Internet Sea!
The grapes are promising–still a little short of ripe, but “the heat! the heat!” will cinch them in a few days. We’ve been picking cups full of marvelous blackberries every day!
Our best to U5!

Thank you : )…I might actually do a post about animal birthdays..but Effie definitely has our best wishes for a happy day-I showed Charlie her picture on my phone, and Charlie rubbed her face on it…
Charlie is so endearing! There must be a Tabby bond there. 🙂
I think so…she’s a bit sneery with the others sometimes. Tooty and Ting always get along as they are sisters, but I did read somewhere that Siamese can be bullied by other cats because of their eyes and fur…a bit like parakeets…
“Sneery” defines the Effie-Halvor dynamic as well. I really think they both want to be friends, both feel thwarted by human and landscape interference, and both want my husband and me entirely to themselves.
I did hear that gingers are more aggressive than other colour cats..have you established whether Halvor is owned yet…?
Halvor is sweet with us and territorial with cats. As for establishing whether someone takes responsibility for his health care–it hasn’t yet come up. We feed him, and he appears to be a happy vagabond. The person I think might house him isn’t exactly readily approachable.
Ahh, one of those types…don’t care for those sorts of owners. Halvor is lucky to have you : ) he sounds like our Boris…
