And just to think of the great American novel that Mr. Typewriter (with his poor cringing machine) missed while he was so preoccupied pounding on the keys and crumbling papers! Little did he know that a very human drama, involving earwigs and primates, was playing out all around him. He was deafening himself to the cosmos with his own keystrokes. Meanwhile you were being exercised with this mysterious rite of passage . . . a new beachtowel.
So the suspense is resolved, but now we have nightmares to worry about!
I’m glad there are new towels in the world.
