Proverbs for this particular time

You know you’re old when you realize you’re checking your watch more frequently to ascertain the day and date than to check the time.

It’s not the most encouraging sign of spring possible when one hears the first buzz of a fly in the house before one hears the first song of a meadowlark in the field.

If a cat yowls in the house at night, take out his carrier. He will at once silently concede that life in the house is good.
